LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- GameAccount, a leading software
developer and supplier to the regulated online gaming industry has signed a
software licensing agreement with Betfred, operator of the Betfred licensed
betting shops and major UK online sportsbook http://www.Betfred.com. The
multi-year deal enables Betfred's online customers to engage in playing
GameAccount's market leading portfolio of online games including Poker
Dice; Gin Rummy; Multiplayer Blackjack; and Backgammon. All GameAccount
person-to-person skill games offer multi-table tournaments together with
head-to-head cash games.
"We see head-to-head games as the next key products to add to our
established gaming portfolio and complement our sportsbook, and are excited
about implementing these emerging games. Having examined the experience and
technical capabilities of all potential suppliers, we believe GameAccount
to be the market leader and are delighted to be joining their network."
said Nick Mounteer, Head of Operations for Betfred.
Betfred becomes the latest licensee sportsbook operator in 2008 to join
the GameAccount Network following membership by William Hill, Gala Group,
Sportingbet Europe, BoyleSports PaddyPower, Stan James and most recently
BlueSquare. All GameAccount licensees enjoy the benefits of GameAccount's
recent launch of Poker Dice together with various software upgrades
including navigation enhancements for the games lobby, moderated chat
rooms, more information for tournament players and brand new side games.
For the first time in the skill gaming industry, players can chat among
themselves within the game lobby view without missing a moment of live
person-to-person gaming action.
"We are delighted to welcome Betfred into our fast-growing Network,
which has experienced explosive growth in player numbers and staking
activity since the beginning of 2008. Betfred's timing is excellent,
following our major software upgrade taking our award-winning software to
the next evolutionary stage and the release of head-to-head Poker Dice,
already a firm favourite among players," said Dermot Smurfit, COO. "With
existing poker businesses under pressure from US-facing poker operators our
games enable our blue-chip corporate customers to mine a strong seam of
demand for these emerging games in regulated markets. Our investment in the
regulated infrastructure in all major white-listed licensing jurisdictions
speaks volumes of our commitment to growing the market for person-to-person
games. Our licensees and the number of players online at peak times
demonstrates our proposition to any operator seeking person-to-person games
business 'Beyond Poker'. Betfred is our third licensee sportsbook operator
utilising the Finsoft sports betting software platform."
