Warsh holds again …but three officials now want a hike. Kevin Warsh's second meeting as Chair. Rates stay put for the fifth straight time, yet the split inside the Fed is widening. The decision: → Fed holds the benchmark rate at 3.50%-3.75% for the fifth consecutive meeting → The vote was 9-3 – three dissents, all in favor of a rate HIKE: Hammack (Cleveland), Kashkari (Minneapolis) and Logan (Dallas) → The FOMC described economic activity as expanding at a "solid pace" despite elevated uncertainty tied to the conflict in the Middle East → Job gains have "kept pace with the workforce," and the Fed reaffirmed its commitment to the 2% inflation goal Notably, Warsh has stripped forward guidance from the statement entirely – a clear break from the Powell era. 🦅
